Sarah's 17 months!

I can't believe that we met Sarah at 9 months and she is now 17 months and gowing up before our eyes through pictures. We received the unfortunate news that the Korean government was not processing any exit permissions in January, when we were origninally told there would be one, possibly two submissions. This was heartbreaking and we went through the emotions of disbelief, anger, more anger, and some more anger and then realized that we are not in control of any of this and the only thing we can do is wait...and send care packages. She will likely be closer to 20 months when we get to bring her home. We know we are not alone in the wait for our child and I have found an online adoptive group that has been immensely helpful in staying positive and foucsing on getting our kiddos home.

Sarah's umma holding up the Christmas card we sent her and some gifts. Packages = pictures so I send a package a month. We still haven't seen her smile, but it's nice to know the she was interested in the toys we sent.

Her Valentines Day care package: A shirt, sweatpants, shoes, a card and for Umma: vitamins (very expensive in Korea), stationary and jelly beans!
