Mother's Day

I find it hard to love Mother's Day. I know my mom is gone and I know I should embrace spending time with my kids, but it just doesn't happen. Other important days like her birthday or the anniversary of her death are surprisingly not as difficult because not every website, store or commercial is about that day. There's no quietly escaping Mother's Day. So I spent Mother's Day walking the Lake Murray Dam with a friend who had also lost her mom and Jack did a great job of lightening the mood with his poem that started out strong but in the end, made me laugh so hard I had tears pouring out of my eyes!
