Vacation Part One

We drove up to Virginia, stayed the night and the next morning we carried on to NY. The drive was fairly easy until we got to Long Island. A lot of people we starting their 4th of July weekend early and we got caught in that crowd but overall the traffic could have been much worse!

We got to Greenport and the kids had a great time. Jack wanted to go claming, although he did not actually want to catch any clams. He spend the time putting on his snorkel goggles and looking into the water for crabs that might want to pinch him. Sarah enjoyed collecting sea shells along the beach.

A front came through, the remnants of hurricane Arthur that rained on our parade, but luckily for one day only. Saturday turned out to be beautiful and we went back to the beach, checked out a new local winery and got ice cream for the kids (and adults). The kids had a great time visiting Grandma and Grandpa in New York!

On Sunday, we took the ferry from Orient to New London to start Part 2 of our New England vacation!
