Fall is here in CT, and while that means beautiful weather and lots of fun things to do, it also means winter is close, like will probably be here next week close.
Before the short days and cold weather fall upon us, we are trying to be outside as much as possible. Today we started the morning at the petting zoo. Jack wasn't afraid of the animals this time and neither was Sarah. Every animal was a "horse", but she learned goat, piggy, emu, duck and chicken.
Jack ran into some of his classmates and it was like watching the bad news bears take over the farm.
The only bad part about our outing to the zoo was Sarah wanting to eat the animal feed. We all had our own cups of food and Sarah was walking trying to eat the grain like popcorn. Ew! But once she started feeding the animals, thing were better, until she then tried to suck her thumb! Thank goodness for wipes.
In the afternoon we went peach and apple picking. It was at a beautiful orchard and the people were out in force. There weren't many peaches left but the apples were plentiful. Sarah was unimpressed until she got to eat an apple. Apples and peaches in the lunch boxes this week!
